Black Hole 2019
On 10 April 2019 a picture of the black hole at the centre of the Milky way was released to the public. It cost over £49 million and required nearly 200 scientist to make it. I thought that was an obscene amount of money to spend on what looked like an out-of-focus bagel. So I took this photo the next day when making my breakfast.Oh, do hurry up!
We were sat outside at the beach cafe when I heard an obviously exasperated lady shout this. I looked round and saw the two people concerned framed by a section of the cafe's seating area structure. I took this shot.Covid Scarecrow
Just after the covid-19 lockdown the town's Best Scarecrow competition took place. This was my favourite. It didn't win.Aurora 12-8-2024, Beaminster, Dorset.
I set up the camera to capture a few of the meteors expected during the Perseid meteor shower that evening, but instead I took half an hour of Aurora photographs. Note that the Aurora only looked like this because it was captured by a 30 seconds exposure. To the naked eye it just looked like a pale red smudge on the horizon because an eye only captures a spit second of light at a time.
